Privacy Policy
What we store when you transcribe a video, and for how long.

Who this covers
This policy describes Transcribe Video to Text. Replace the contact address in the Contact page before launch. It is not a certification of GDPR, CCPA, or any other regime.
Account
If you create an account we store your name, email, and sign-in identifiers from the provider you use (email and password, or Google when that provider is enabled). We do not sell that information.
Files you upload
You upload video or audio so we can transcribe it. The file is stored so the job can finish and so you can retry a failure. Media files are kept for about 7 days, then deleted. You can delete a transcript from your library sooner; that removes your copy of the file and the transcript on your account.
A hash of the file bytes is used to reuse a finished transcript. The shared cache stores the transcript text, not a second copy of the media, and it expires on the same about-7-day window. Another account that uploads the identical bytes may receive that cached text without a new transcription charge. Do not upload a file you cannot share with the transcription vendor or, via that cache, with someone who has the same file.
Transcription model
When the OpenAI provider is enabled, the audio is sent to OpenAI for gpt-transcribe (or the model id configured by the operator). See the model disclosure page. A mock provider used in development does not send audio anywhere.
Minutes and payments
The minute ledger records grants, spends, and refunds of failed jobs. PayPal processes pack purchases. We store the order id, amount, and minute grant. We do not store your full card number.
What we do not do in this version
We do not accept YouTube or other links. We do not offer team accounts or human proofreading.
